The Gerald Huff Fund for Humanity sponsors the Basic Income March in New York City. San Francisco, September 17, 2019. The Gerald Huff Fund for Humanity (Fund) today announced that it is sponsoring the Basic Income March in New York City on Saturday, October 26th. A major social media campaign has been launched to promote this March for Universal Basic Income, with the participation of the New York Metropolitan Area members of the Yang Gang.
In addition to Fund board member Scott Santens, one of the best-known thought leaders in the UBI movement and editor of Basic Income: Today, an impressive lineup of speakers includes Al Sharpton, Founder of the National Action Network, Hawk Newsome, Chairman of Black Lives Matter N.Y., Ras J. Baraka, Mayor of Newark, Chivona Renee Newsome, NY-15 Candidate for U.S. Congress and James Felton Keith, NY-13 Candidate for U.S. Congress who initiated the March.
The purpose of this March is to empower Americans to demonstrate their support for Universal Basic Income, a dividend of $1,000 per month to every American adult that offers all of us freedom of choice by providing a floor under which none of us can fall. This action is in keeping with the Fund’s mission of redefining human dignity and what it takes to sustain it in the 21st century.
